We can confront any enemy: Iranian Navy

TEHRAN, Feb. 13 (MNA) – Commander of the Iranian Navy said: “the open seas of the world belong to all nations, and Iran is also entitle to be present on these open seas”

Admiral Sayyari during a press conference told reporters that marine force has many components such as powerful naval forces, strong shipping industry, and strong science and technology must be used in coastal infrastructure and said: “today we have powerful navy, and also very good commercial fleet, and we should strive to accelerate coast line infrastructure developments.

Admiral Sayyari added: “we have capabilities for our nation’s resources, interests and borders defenses and we will enhance deterrence, and if necessary, we can confront any enemy anywhere.”

He said; “we are present on the free waters of the world and we anchored on many ports which we have coordinated before, including Sudan, Jeddah, Djibouti, Seri Lanka and latakia.”

Iran eyes Makran Coast

Admiral Sayyari pointed to seas’ many advantages for countries and said: “in recent centuries developments in this area has not been taken place in our country, and we should note the importance of this, and on the coast lines, specially Makran Coast line developments.”

Commander of the Iranian Navy said: “Makran Coast line has potential for developments and we hope by holding national exhibitions to speed up the development of the Makran Coast line and to show power of the Iranian naval forces.”
